One figure who won't be returning in the upcoming third series of The Voice of Ireland is Sharon Corr. The singer who has been on the panel since the first series in 2012 announced earlier this year that she would be leaving after her second series of the talent show in order to tour. As a result, the producers have been hard at work to find a replacement coach to join the panel alongside Jamelia, Bressie and Kian Egan.

Find out who after the JUMP...

Who is stepping into Sharon's shoes? Only front woman of hugely successful Irish band The Cranberries, Dolores O'Riordan. The 42-year-old has had a lot of success both as part of the iconic rock band and as a soloist and is sure to do a great job as a coach on the show. I reckon she will be similar to Bressie in terms of coaching style but will probably make less random song choices.
The news was revealed on The Late Late Show on RTE last night (Friday 4) and was met with fantastic reaction from fans of the show, as well as from her fellow coaches with Bressie tweeting: ''Helloooo  @DolORiordan welcome aboard . Chat to you soon''.

Meanwhile, Jamelia said on Twitter: ''Whoop whoop, Very Excited about having @DolORiordan joining us on the big red Chairs on @RTETheVoice!! Gonna be a Good 'un I think''

Dolores will begin filming once the blind auditions begin later this month and the third series will air on RTE One in the new year. What do you think of the new coach? Is she a worthy successor to Sharon?
